The purpose of the First Lutheran student council is to build Christian leaders among peers. The FLS student council is comprised of elected representatives from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes. Representatives must maintain grade eligibility, have a desire to serve, and show respect for peers, teachers, and themselves.

Joining the student council encourages students to become more active members of the First Lutheran school community. Through these activities and more, members of the council gain valuable experience in student government and become more responsible, active members of the school and local community. Many members of the FLS student council continue to serve on the Ponca City High School student council.

- Red Ribbon Week activities
- National Lutheran Schools Week activities
- Teacher/Volunteer Appreciation Week activities
- Annual Grandparents' Day
- Annual school talent show
- Student activities
- Dress-up days
- Dances
- Movie nights
- Competitions
We serve our community by planning and being involved in the following:
- Organizing fundraisers
- Philanthropic Projects
- Ponca City Humane Society
- Angel Tree
- Samaritan's Purse
- First Lutheran Church food pantry collections
- KFOR Warmth for Winter Coat Drive
Joining the student council encourages students to become more active members of the First Lutheran school community. Through these activities and more, members of the council gain valuable experience in student government and become more responsible, active members of the school and local community. What is expected of FLS student council members?
- Attend regular council meetings
- Meet with their peers to receive feedback and hear student ideas and concerns
- Volunteer at special events
- Serve as role models to other students
- Maintain grade eligibility
- Act in a respectful manner to their peers, their teachers, and to themselves
