Who are we? First Lutheran School opened its doors in 1953 with a commitment to educational excellence. Since that time, the school has grown to offering a complete elementary program with related services...and yet, the excellence in education has been maintained. Raising children is a challenging, demanding task. First Lutheran School is dedicated to teaching academic discipline, a student's respect for others, and most importantly, a Christian education where children learn about the love of their Lord, Savior, and Friend, Jesus Christ. Our school will work in partnership with you as a family in educating your child. First Lutheran School helps parents by:
*providing dedicated Christian teachers who serve as daily role models, *teaching the Word of God daily, *integrating Christian faith into all curriculum areas, *maintaining close contact with the home, *providing opportunities for Christian service, and *ensuring a quality education in all subjects. Who is eligible? Although the school is sponsored by and receives major financial support from First Lutheran Church, enrollment is open to Lutherans and non-Lutherans. No student is denied enrollment on the basis of race, creed, national origin, or color. Prospective students are to make application for enrollment. How do our students perform? Graduates of First Lutheran School go on to achieve educational, athletic, and personal excellence. Annual achievement test results indicate that our students' scores are significantly higher than the national averages. When students leave First Lutheran School to enter the public school domain, they are prepared to meet the academic, physical, and mental challenges they face. Equally important, they go on to meet new social challenges with a foundation of Christian principles. Our teachers are qualified! The teaching staff is certified by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Post-graduate studies are common activities for the faculty. In addition to college level courses, teachers attend staff development workshops, conferences, and other professional growth opportunities that strengthen their teaching skills.
