FIRST LUTHERAN SCHOOL ENROLLMENT POLICY

(ADOPTED 2/22/03)

FLS holds two enrollment periods during the school year.

The first enrollment period is generally held during the month of March and is open to all current returning students, current FLCS member families, and siblings of current students.  Classes will be filled in the order the enrollments are completed.  Enrollment is considered complete when the enrollment fee has been paid in full.  If a class reaches the guideline size, the class will be considered full and the remaining students will be placed on a waiting list in order of completed enrollment.  Returning students will always have priority during the first enrollment period.  (Please note:  FLS cannot guarantee class membership for returning K students entering 1st grade due to having two K classes.)  If an eligible family misses the first enrollment period, they will be considered during the second enrollment period, but they will not receive priority over open enrollment students.

The second enrollment period is generally held during the month of April and is open to all interested students.  If openings are available in the desired class after the first enrollment period, open enrollment students will be considered for addition to the class in the order the enrollments are completed, contingent on standard student evaluations.  Enrollment is considered complete when the enrollment fee has been paid in full.  If a class reaches the guideline size, the class will be considered full and the remaining students will be placed on a waiting list in order of completed enrollment.  If a class is already at the guideline size before the second enrollment period opens, the class will be considered full and the remaining students will be placed on a waiting list in order of completed enrollment behind any students who may be on the waiting list from the first enrollment period.
